Sterling Silver Torah Shield TAS, London, England, 1929, Judaica. The shield is made with scrolled floral and foliate chased border, applied with two pierced pillars, two ramping lions and a Torah crown. The center of the shield is applied with The Tables of The Decalogue engraved with The Ten Commandments which open on hinges to reveal a miniature model of a Torah scroll. With engraved Hebrew dedication below the Torah crown and above the plaque box (see pictures). Two dangling heart shape pendants, one engraved – “Mrs. R. Cohen”. The shield is also applied with a plaque box with a silver plaque inscribed in Hebrew “Sabbath” on one side and “Passover” on the other. Connected with a hanging chain. Fully hallmarked (several times) for London, England, dated 1929, maker’s mark “M.R”. 29x27cm. 1184gr.
