Silver Torah Shield TAS, Porbably German, Circa 1890, Judaica.
The shield's border is chased with matte leafage surrounding the quilted field. Typical applied symbols including - two pillars with gilt eagles finials, the Tables of The Decalogue engraved with the Ten Commandments flanked by two ramping lions and topped with a Torah crown (all gilded).
Hinged plaque box with a double sided plaque inscribed in Hebrew "Sabbath" on one side and "Passover" on the other.
The plaque box cover is inscribed in English - "Presented to the Manchester Hebrew congregation by George Moritz in loving memory of his dear parents May 1890".
Connected with a chain.
